The picture makes this item look like a more expensive cover that allows you to make eye contact with your baby. This cover just lays flat but it was very pretty.

This is a cute design, but I've found myself getting very frustrated while using it. I'm a first-time mom with a newborn, and I'm not at the point where I can have my baby latch on without me being an active participant in the act. I need to guide him and help him latch properly, which requires watching him closely and perhaps helping him re-latch a few times. Because there's no way to hold the top open, I find myself struggling to keep it out of the way so I can see him. It just flops around against my chest. I tried using it in a restaurant and got so frustrated that I whipped it off and exposed myself! :) I think I'll buy a Bebe au Lait cover, which seems like it might be easier because it has a wire ring around the top for viewing baby.
