Our Hospital Lactation Consultant gave us one of these because our son was having trouble feeding due to Jaundice plus the Hepatitis shot and then nipple confusion from the pacifier used during circumcision. It helps to ensure they are getting fed when they don't do well on the breast. We used it 3 different ways.
(1) We used it attached to the breast during breast feeding before my milk came in and put premix formula in the feeder. It helped to ensure he was getting something in addition to colostrum. I didn't produce a lot of colostrum.
(2) We used it under the nipple shied when I had engorgement and the milk would wouldn't release. It helped stimulate release at the same time we ensured he was getting something.
(3)Daddy used it once a day. You attach the tube to the outside of the finger with surgical tape. You fill the top of the feeder (we used the pumped breast milk). You then place your finger upside down in the baby's mouth which...Read more

I love this product! I was having a problem with my milk supply and this product really helped! I would put formula in it and it was a dream. It is very easy to use. I did not need the tape it came with. I also needed to clip it above my shirt. It says you can clip it to your shirt but I had better luck holding it higher. Also washing In warm water and hanging dry is the way to go. The dishwasher messes it up. With 2 weeks of use I had a full supply!!

My wife used the SNS and it seems to work pretty well. Thankfully, by God's grace, our baby has now started eating other things, too, so she hasn't used the SNS much. The tubing is small so when taped to the breast it works pretty well. My little one is nearly a year though, and was pretty savy to the fact that something was different. The tube does need to be on the top of his mouth, not the side, for him to get food from it. When she tried it first thing in the morning (when he had slept all night and was the hungriest) it seemed to work the best.
