I actually never used this cold, but I did warm it up and use it to help stimulate milk flow. It stays on well around the nipple though I usually used both on the same breast to keep the heat longer, otherwise it would cool down too quickly. I also used it as a warm compress around my baby's thigh when he had his shots and got a sore spot at the injection site. I know there are other brands of the same thing and I'm not sure whether they would be better, but this worked fine though I think maybe hot washcloths would have done just as well. It's too bad it was never available for free shipping; the shipping cost was high.

Ordered this pre-birth, now having used it I would have to say it's most effective as a cooling aid after nursing (when engorgement came in). It didn't really help as a heating aid as you warm it in warm water so I found it more effective and relieving to use hot damp towels and keep this product cold in the fridge. It was handy to have it around but was not as good as I thought it would be.

I have been on a mad serch for these gel pads since I had read about them. I have found them on many sites this being the best price. Pretty stoked when I found them until I got to the check out and they don't deliver to Canada. This is North America people. Mail has been aound for years. I found I had a few problems with Amazon.com and products coming across the boarder. I dont find this a dangerous good. Smart Choice Breast Soother
