This review is from: Playtex Baby Embrace Breast Pump System - Replacement Breast Cup (4 pieces) (Baby Product) I bought these parts for my wife for her Playtex Embrace breast pump. Not that I mind buying replacement parts for a constantly used item, but we were buying new parts for these pumps every month, and that really added up. The biggest problem my wife had with these was the hard clear plastic would become brittle and crack where the parts would clip together, making them useless since they wouldn't create suction at that point. We ended up sending the pump back to Playtex and bought a Medela Pump in Style instead and haven't had to replace a single thing on it. This review is from: Playtex Baby Embrace Breast Pump System - Replacement Breast Cup (4 pieces) (Baby Product) not even my worst "baby-related" purchase, but overall worst purchase made in 2010. my husband got the playtex pump at target b/c it was on clearance (gee, i wonder why). as of this writing, i've been using my pump for 5.5 months and have had to call for replacement cups 3x. each time they've sent me a set of cups, so theoretically, i should have 6 working cups. nope! i only have 1 properly functioning cup.
when i started, i use to pump about 8x/day, disassembling to wash the parts anywhere from 5-8x/day. in the past 2-3 months, i've gone down to 3 pumps per day, disassembling to wash only once a day. i manually wash the parts - not in the dishwasher and not with boiling hot water, so it's all per instruction. the assembling and disassembling of parts has caused cracks to form in the backing of the cup, which over time, has affected the effectiveness of the suction. i'm so frustrated b/c this is now affecting my milk flow. i literally have to hold the pieces...Read more Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
