I have to be honest, I purchased this on a whim because I was going to buy the Medela Pump in Style Advanced. The only reason I didn't was because the salesgirl at Babies R Us told me this was a much better pump for a more reasonable price. I had to agree! The only thing that made me nervous about this purchase was the fact that with my first child I used the manual Avent and had many traumatic experiences. What I mean is, I literally would cry each time I had to pump. I would sit down for the task all geared up and would get 3-4 oz out of both breasts combined, but it took 1 hour. I absolutely loathed pumping and got an upset stomach just thinking about it. Therefore, I just wasn't sure that this pump would have enough "juice" in it to do the trick. Well, let me tell you, THIS PUMP IS AMAZING! The day I got home from the...Read more 30 of 32 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Philips AVENT Isis iQ UNO (Baby Product) WOW! I'm in love with my new pump!! My first child was born 3 months early and I had to pump full time for her. Every single electric I tired hurt and pulled and I got no milk. I used my Avent Isis Manual at the time and got a lot more milk pumping full time from my manula than from any electric. So when I saw they came out with an electric, I was thrilled! I'm breastfeeding my second child but like to pump so he can have bottles. After my last experience with pumps, I will NEVER use anything other than Avent but using a manual every day for months on end gets tiring. My Uno works just as well, even better, than the manual! I love the battery pack so I don't have to be near an outlet, and I love that I can use it manually if I want to. I'm getting so much milk in such a small amount of time. Cleaning and taking care of it is just as easy as with the manual. Way to go Avent! 15 of 16 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Philips AVENT Isis iQ UNO (Baby Product) After reading these reviews online, I decided to buy this pump since it seemed like everyone who tried it really liked it. For $150, it is a total ripoff, and didn't work for me at all. It would take me 45 minutes to get more than two ounces, very much hurt my nipples, and was overall a giant disappointment.
My suggestion to anyone looking to buy a pump is: RENT ONE FIRST. See what works for you before you buy ANYTHING. I ended up renting one and am now shelling out the $300 to get the Medela Pump In Style Advanced. I have now spent $150 on the Avent (down the toilet), $60 on the rental, and now I am going to have to buy a brand new pump for $300. The ironic thing is, I bought this one to save myself money as it seemed like a good deal for an electric pump. What a waste! What I have learned about this pump is that it is great for women to whom manual expression of milk comes very easily. If that isn't you, DON'T BUY THIS PUMP! |
