Having the strap that goes around the neck is great. I don't have to worry about it falling down like a blanket would. I also like that there is no plastic in the top that pops the cover out. These are used to see the baby when you nurse, but I feel like anyone else can see down there too! This way there is enough extra material to pop it out yourself if you want to peak, but it can lay flat against you too if you aren't looking at baby. It does make it like a little furnace under there with you, your baby and the cover. We were both sweating by the time my baby was done eating! This one doesn't have that and it takes some positioning to get the fabric to lay open enough for you to see your baby. The fabric is a little stiff and not too soft but that helps it stay open at the top so you can see your baby.
