Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with Shoulder Bag

Comment: I wanted to give my baby milk after I went back to work so I knew I needed a pump. A pump isn't something you get to try out first so I read a lot of reveiws and the hospital gave me a symphony pump since my baby was in NICU for a month.
We bought the Medela because it got many good reveiws, and having the symphony first also convinced me.

- It's powerfull, batteries will wear out after a week or less with frequent use, so just use the plug.
- This kit was portable, although heavy.
- It came with almost everything you need.
- I used mine non stop for nine months; no problems mechanically.
- It'snot the most comfortable in the world, had to buy my own breast sheilds to get proper fit.
- Also the bottled do not come with nipples / rings.

It can be bought for less at a direct dealer, much less... but if you have the money, it is worth it for your little one.

Comment: I am FAR more impressed with this model. 3 years ago I had the Original Pump in Style and had HUGE problems with it from the 1st time I tried to use it.

My first night home with the baby he woke up screaming every hour b/c my milk hadn't come in (4 days after birth). After 2 more days of trying to pump I was getting MAYBE .25 ounces out of each breast even though they were engorged. Clearly, it seemed like a product defect. After time, my milk came in better but the product always took a while to get my milk. I compared to other friends with the same model and I was ALWAYS getting much less milk than they. The manufacturer said it was a user problem and wouldn't replace.

Now with the Pump In Style Advanced, from day 1 I was getting 2 ounces. The let down mode is great (not on the original model) and gets my milk moving quickly. from start to finish, pumping both breasts at once, I only need to spend 10-12 minutes pumping. This model is far superior to the other one!

Comment: I debated between buying this pump and the lansinoh pump. Since this pump consistently got good reviews, I purchased this one instead of taking any chances with the lansinoh pump. I planned to nurse, but instead, ended up pumping since the day we returned from the hospital. It's been over four months now and I use this pump every day, at least five times a day. I have an excellent milk supply (I can get 4-5 ounces from each side after only 3 hours between pump sessions). I find it to be extremely portable (although it is a little heavy when you are carrying a diaper bag, bottle bag and baby carrier with you). It has been worth every penny we spent on it. My recommendation to mothers who are considering buying a pump: if you are tempted to purchase a less expensive, just remember you are dropping $150-$200 on it. If it does not work for you, you can't return it and get your money back. You'll have to buy another and then you end up paying more. Buy a quality product the first time around, that way you don't have to spend the money twice. You won't have any regrets. Do shop around though. They may have it cheaper elsewhere.

Comment: This pumped work great for me. I couldn't get my little girl to breastfeed so I pumped several times a day to feed her. It kept right up with me and has been great. I highly recommend this product.
