Check your pump before buying. Only older pumps use 12V. Newer pumps use 9V - this adapter won't work for your 9V Pump-In-Style.

This ac adapter is nice. A word of caution: do not wrap the cord around the large plug as over time the wires will fray and the adapter will no longer work. This is what happened with my original adapter that came with my Medela breastpump. Overall, great product and much better than using a battery pack.

I have owned my Pump in Style Advanced pump since November of 2007 and used it for over a year with my first child, and am 4 months into using it with my second. Today I noticed that the cord was frayed near the box that plugs into the wall and called Medela to see if they have a replacement policy. I told her how old my pump was, how often I use it (up to 4x a day) and she offered a replacement, FREE OF CHARGE. They only asked that I return the original power adapter so that their quality department could inspect the damage. I will get overnight delivery free of charge, and the return postage is free of charge as well. So- before you PURCHASE a replacement for the older pumps that use this power adapter, call in to see if you can get your free replacement as well! Medela: 800-435-8316. Their customer service was excellent and the rep offered the replacement after answering the above questions- even on a pump that is over 4 years old. Good luck!
