Appropriately fitted breast shields made pumping and breastfeeding significantly more comfortable. Eliminated the need for lanolin while pumping, eliminated the discomfort and chaffing too. Only thing to consider is that when you get these shields, you have to have the connectors that are separate from the shield, which aren't the ones that come with the medela pumps. The hospital I delivered at gave me a bag of breastfeeding stuff and it had the connectors that will accept the personal fit shields, but if you dont have them, you'll need to buy them along with the little yellow valves that go inside the connectors. In my opinion, it's WELL worth it.

The Medela PersonalFit Breastshields are great for the mother who has larger than average nipples, and who experiences discomfort pumping milk with the size 27mm shields that come with the Pump in Style pump. I had searched locally in stores for the size 36mm shields but to no avail. This product was sold on Amazon cheaper than other online retailers, and actually arrived one day earlier than anticipated with tracking. My only wish is that Medela made all of their shields out of the soft material that only the size 27mm comes in as an alternative to the hard plastic material.

I bought these for my medela double electric pump. I had trouble with my first baby when I was pumping full time. I had a lot of pain and discomfort when pumping. At the time I couldn't find this size shield, but I tried pretty much every other size and type, including the softfit. I bought these for the second baby and have just started pumping as I prepare to go back to work. They fit so well! I was nervous I wouldn't be able to pump again if it was going to be as painful as it was before, but finding the right fit made all the difference! They are quite large, so try out the standard size that come with the pumps before you jump to this size. I have a very large nipple so it works for me. Check out the medela website for guidelines on finding the right fit.
