My first daughter never learned to breastfeed due to my flat nipples and the fact that she was given a pacifier in the hospital immediately after my c-section. We had a horrible time with nipple confusion and latching issues. I ended up pumping exclusively for 5 months in order to breastfeed her...
So when I was pregnant for the second time I knew I had to plan ahead in order to get my second daughter to latch correctly. I found this product on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It was packed in my hospital bag and I tried it out immediately after my c-section (and this time the baby had NO pacifier!) and it helped us tremendously!
It can be such a challenge for moms with flat inverted nipples to get their babies to latch. The Latch Assist is a MUST HAVE item for women with flat nipples. With my first daughter I tried everything, including nipple shields and shells, but the Latch Assist is the only tool that has really helped me.
I still use it...Read more

I was given the Lansinoh Latch Assist device in the hospital after giving birth. The nurses who were helping with breastfeeding noticed that one nipple was a bit flat, and our daughter was having trouble latching on. The Latch Assist drew out the nipple so she could get a proper latch. It saved me from having to try a nipple shield and was very easy and comfortable to use. It was also simple and quick to clean between nursing sessions, which is important with a newborn.
The one drawback was that after my milk came in, the Latch Assist acted like a little pump and triggered letdown - if I used it when engorged, milk got all over the place. By that point the nipple was drawn out enough from nursing frequently that I no longer needed to use the Latch Assist.

I wanted to breastfeed so badly but had inverted nipples, I bought this product hoping that it would do what it said after trying every other trick in the book.
And...success! its small so you can carry it anywhere purse, or pocket! if your feeding in public and are nervous about anyone seeing it fits in your hand so its very discreat. The sunction power on it is amazing better then any pump.
For any mother having issues with flat or inverted nipples, i honestly cnt recommend this product enough, those early days are so hard, but this saved some of my sanity.
