Great for A or B cup,
January 19, 2009 M. Tran "new mom" (SF, CA) - See all my reviews
I have tried Lansinoh, Medela, Johnson & Johnson, and Playtex nursing pads. The Lansinoh are best overall: great absorbancy, nice countoured shape, and good adhesive that stays in place without bunching up. J&J were also great, but I'd recommend them to women who size A or B since they are smaller in size. Playtex has great absorbancy but they are not at all countoured so they bulge unless you have the perfect bra that will hide a huge bulge. Medela are super thin, therefore much less absorbant, and also the core gets bunched up inside the outer lining so they are almost impossible to unbunch between feedings. The adhesive stinks too, so they don't stay in place too long. So overall I recommend J&J to smaller women (cup A or B), and the Lansinoh to larger women (cup C and above).

The absolute best,

I will preface this by saying that I was only a B cup even when fully engorged so I don't know how these would work for a really large woman, but....these are in my opinion the absolute best nursing pads available. I used them for a year and they worked longer, absorbed more, and looked less conspicuous than other brands.
I tried washable pads but in my experience they didn't absorb any better than a hanky would have. Also, a lot of the disposable pads I bought were flat, which meant you had to fold them to mold them in your bra, and a wrinkle like that can shift down and then suddenly you have a river of milk that sprouts from the bottom of your breast. Also some of them seemed to sort of crinkle up when whet and then they leak too. But these fit perfectly over the breast, were molded so no more wrinkle, and were thick and plush so they absorbed more/lasted longer. Also, no thrush at all with them in the entire year I nursed. I put a box of these in with every baby shower...Read more

Not that large and a little thick,

This review is from: Johnson's Contour Nursing Pads - 60 Pads (Health and Beauty)
These likely would not work for someone with larger breasts, the diameter is fairly small. They are a little thick but not too bulky. They have a bump on the outside that will make it look like a nipple if you wear a thiner bra or cami with shelf bra - not sure if this is a good or bad thing. They absorb well. One nice thing is they are not individually wrapped so if you are just changing them at home you don't have to deal with opening them and all the wrappers. They are not as not-stick as other brands, you will have lint stuck to you that needs to be pulled off. I prefer medlea or lansinoh ones.
