2.0 out of 5 stars GO WITH MEDELA, September 26, 2011

Pros -I give it two stars only because it Did its job of pumping milk (quickly too, if you are on the highest setting)

Cons - IT STINKIN HURTS!!!! It is loud and the motors are big and bulky. It is very hard to use with a hands free bra. I bought this pump in an emergency situation so my milk wouldnt dry up since I had forgot parts to my Medela pump. Spend the extra money and go with Medela, they know what they are doing. This thing must have been made by someone who has no idea about breastfeeding and pumping. If you pump more than once a week, do not buy this pump, you will certainly become discouraged and switch to formula.

I'm not sure why the other reviews are so bad for this pump but I love it because it gets the milk out fast and is super portable. It is not designed for frequent pumping... According to manufacturer, it should be for no more than twice a day but I don't see why you would not be able to use it several times a day on occassion. I also own the Medela Advance Pump in Style Backpack so I can compare the two. My case for using the pumps is for occasional work travel or to pump extra milk each day for the Milk Bank so I'm not using either pump to replace feedings while at work since I work from home.

Pros for the SimplyGo:
It is extremely portable. The "dual" is actually just two of the singles. Each flange/bottle has it's own motor with batteries so you really can pump anywhere rather than having to stay close to the motor. You can also plug it in.
The set up and cleaning is easier because there aren't a lot of parts, such as the Medela tubes.
The two motors...Read more

This pump did hurt at first before my milk came in fully, but you can adjust this setting on the pump itself. It isn't hands free, FYI. But it does the job. & quickly. if you find that the pump isn't working while you are trying to pump, see the blue peg inside the pump, or your valve may have milk backed up. Simply break the seal while you are pumping and this will repair the issue. I'd rather spend less and have this product, rather than quadruple the price on one. They plug into the wall or you can run them off of 3 aa batteries. (which really helps on vacations, or long periods of time in the car) batteries don't last weeks though, so I recommend using the outlet if you're around one. My last pump with my other child was a medela and I love this one even more. This pump doesn't have as many parts to tote around as my medela did. Other than batteries not lasting long, my only issue was after washing the bottles a few times, the wording came off of the bottles, even though I...Read more
