5.0 out of 5 stars exactly what I wanted, April 6, 2010

I find these more comfortable than the bare flanges and they also make the opening narrower which for me helps me get more milk out. Some commented that they don't fit in flush and that there is decreased pressure - this is true, but I didn't find it affected milk output at all. Glad I got them despite being worried by negative reviews.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not helpful, February 2, 2010
This review is from: Ameda Flexshield Aereola Stimulator (Baby Product)
I was having trouble pumping enough milk, and I thought it might be due to the flanges being too large. I thought these inserts might help. I had read very mixed reviews, mostly negative, but thought I'd give it a try anyway. It definitely did not work for me. They are bulky and difficult to center on the nipple. They also keep popping out of the flanges. If you use any kind of hands free bra, it's not easy to place into the bra because the material is rather "sticky" and not slippery like plastic. It also makes the flange more bulky, so it might not fit into your bra anymore.

I also tried the reducing inserts and these worked much better. In the end, I learned that setting my pump settings at the slowest cycle and a stronger suction made the biggest difference. So if you're looking for something to help you pump more, I would try adjusting the pump settings or the reducing inserts before trying this. I do think this is a waste of money.

I always have trouble pumping and I am small breasted. So, I thought the flexishields could help. But they make me hurt more, and even itch. I used them a few times hoping my body will learn to respond to them. But my pumping sessions were much worse with them. So now, they are just collecting dusts..
