Ameda Duoshells Breast Shells

I asked the hospital for some breast shells when I left and they gave me these. They are plastic and come apart into 2 pieces so they are easy to clean. I had initially asked for them because my nipples were already sore and didn't want them rubbing up again my clothes. I discovered that by wearing these in between feeds, they actually draw out your nipples allowing a better latch! They also catch some of the excess milk that leaks from the other side when you are nursing. I wash in hot soapy water after each feed. I just ordered another on amazon to have as a backup.

These are not good for large breasts. They look horrible through clothing so you can't wear them out unless you don't mind people staring at your misshaped breasts. They leaked breast milk all through my clothing despite wearing them properly. Ok for home use but they are not comfortable at all. Wish I didn't buy them. Hard plastic is not good, try to find rubber ones for comfort.
