I have used Ameda, Medela and Lansinoh bags recently, and figured I would post a comparison of the 3.

Ameda:
Love the pour spout, but haven't really had a spill issue with any of the other bags so it's more of a nice to have than a must have. Good, thick plastic, and bags stand up on their own quite well. Zipper seems secure, although sometimes its hard to tell if it's closed. Has the smallest zipper of the 3 bags. Also, very disappointed that this listing was for the bags only, and did not include the adapters to pump directly into the bags. Luckily, with a little finagling, I was able to use these bags with the Medela adapters.

Medela:
Similar to Ameda in plastic thickness and design. Also stands up on own easily. Zipper seems a bit more reliable than Ameda. I liked that the adapters were included in the box and these are easy to pump into.

Lansinoh:
The thinnest plastic of the 3, and don't really stand up on own easily. These have a...Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Prefer Lansinoh Bags, April 5, 2011

This review is from: Ameda 40 Count Store N Pour Breast Milk Storage Bags (Baby Product)
I originally started with Ameda's storage bags to work with my Ameda pump. They seemed convenient because I could pump directly into them and they had a pour spout on the actual bag. What I found is that those bags were extremely inaccurate in their volume measurement and a lot of the fat in the breast milk seemed to adhere to the inside of the bags even after having warmed the milk under running water. Also, I didn't care to actually pump into the bag since it was not something that could be set down until the flange was removed.

I subsequently ordered the Lansinoh bags and was very happy with them in contrast to the Ameda bags. The measurement is significantly more accurate, they will hold 2 oz more than the Ameda bags (6 oz. vs. 4 oz.), and all of the breast milk makes it out of the bag. Also, because of the difference in shape, the Lansinoh bags freeze thinner (when frozen lying flat). The double seal is also a nice feature that the Ameda bags do not have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Overall great but a few drawbacks, March 1, 2011

I first started pumping directly into the bags. We discovered pretty quickly the measurements are not accurate at all. Depending on how you open the bag the measurement can vary widely. If you open the bottom as wide as you can it will be closer but still the better part of an ounce off. What I do is pump into the ameda bottles to get the accurate measurement and pour into the bags. It really defeats one of the big selling points of the bag.

The 2nd drawback I've discovered is you have to open them very carefully the first time you go to use one. The ziplock part is so tightly zipped you have to open it forcefully but carefully still or you might rip it at the edge preventing it from sealing completely. I did this once not realizing it until that bag leaked and froze over the other bags.

I haven't had any further leaking issues besides the one. I'm happy with the quality of the bags and using them to store and freeze bags.
