I have 3 children. I nursed my first 2 for 2years. I had gotten the purely yours breast pump as a gift & loved it. I would pump 3 times a day for the 1st year & I would get 18-21ounces total a day. 6 years later I had my 3rd child- I had gotten rid of my breast pump but luckily my neighbor had a purely yours that she gave me & I loved it. I used hers for 6 weeks pumping 3times a day and getting 20-23 ounces a day. I noticed the side plug area was breaking so I decided to buy a new one. Since I loved my old purely yours I thought I would buy it again- what a mistake!!!! I received it & the sucktion is terrible!!!! I couldn't figure out what was wrong- I thought my new machine was defective. I looked at my broken 1 & my new 1 side by side and notice the dials/ body was different so I turned them over to find out my old1 was make in Switzerland & my new 1was made in China and boy does it make a difference!!!! It is made so cheap & the sucktion is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! I called the Ameda...Read more

I've only had it a week, and it works well so far. I was using an Avent single electric pump and getting 1-2 oz on each side, 20 mins per side. With this pump, I now get a minimum of 2-3 oz on each side in 12 mins.
Avent does have one advantage in that they provide covers for the breast part and where the bottle goes, so when not in use, you can keep eveything covered.
Everything fits well in the carrybag, and it's very lightweight.
If the manufacturers read this, providing covers to ensure pump stays clean between uses is a good idea.
Also, I read the user guide and it doesn't say. Can I sterilize the pump and bottles in a conventional steam sterilizer?
